Building Services in Malvern

We’re a building company based in Gorsley, around 30 minutes from Great Malvern and 24 from Colwall, working on renovations, extensions and new builds on both sides of the Malvern Hills. That might be a Victorian villa in Great Malvern, a spa-era house in Malvern Wells, or a family home in Colwall. Our own team runs every job from design and groundworks to the final finish, and we already have a completed project nearby in Upton upon Severn.

House Extensions in Malvern

Kitchen-diners, garden-room extensions, wraparounds and two-storey additions, designed to suit the house and the hillside. Many Malvern plots slope steeply, so levels, retaining walls and drainage are planned from the start. We handle drawings, planning and Building Regulations for you.

New Builds Around Malvern

Much of the area sits within the Malvern Hills National Landscape, which has its own building design guide, so siting, height and materials are looked at closely. Note the planning split too: Great Malvern and Malvern Wells come under Malvern Hills District Council, while Colwall, on the western side of the hills, comes under Herefordshire Council. We work through all of this at feasibility stage.

Home Renovations in Malvern

Great Malvern’s conservation area is full of Regency and Victorian villas built in local Malvern stone, often with polygonal stone walling, decorative bargeboards and tall chimneys, set behind stone boundary walls. We renovate these homes with care and agree the approach with the relevant council before work starts on listed buildings or conservation areas.

Driveways & Landscaping in Malvern

Terraces, retaining walls, driveways, garden rooms and drainage, built for sloping hillside gardens where good groundworks make all the difference. We cover Great Malvern, Malvern Wells, Malvern Link, Colwall, West Malvern, Welland and Hanley Swan.

FAQ's

Which council handles planning in Malvern and Colwall?

Great Malvern and Malvern Wells come under Malvern Hills District Council. Colwall, although it shares the Malvern area, is in Herefordshire and comes under Herefordshire Council. We submit to the right authority for your address.

Does the Malvern Hills National Landscape affect my project?

It often does. Much of the area sits within the National Landscape, which has its own building design guide covering siting, materials and scale. We design with this in mind from the start.

Do you work on Malvern stone and Victorian villas?

Yes. Great Malvern’s conservation area is full of stone villas with decorative details. We use materials and methods that suit the building and agree the approach with the council before work starts.

Can you build on steep hillside plots?

Yes. Many Malvern plots slope steeply, and we plan levels, retaining walls and drainage early so the extension or new home sits properly and stays dry.

Have you worked nearby?

Yes. We completed a bungalow extension in Upton upon Severn, around 15 minutes from Great Malvern, replacing an old conservatory with a brick extension and creating a master bedroom and dressing room.

Which areas do you cover?

We cover Great Malvern, Malvern Wells, Malvern Link, West Malvern, Colwall, Welland and Hanley Swan, along with Ledbury and Upton upon Severn.

Can I extend a house on the Malvern Hills?

Usually, yes. Within the Malvern Hills National Landscape, side extensions and external cladding generally need planning permission, and the design guide encourages materials and forms that suit the hills. We design to that guide from the start, which makes approval far more likely.
